AOA+ Leadership Society

Students must complete certain requirements of the AOA+ Leadership Society to earn a certificate of completion for your resume, a special lapel pin and national recognition from the AOA.

AOA+ Leadership Society 2024

The AOA+ Leadership Society is a program for students who want to build leadership skills, advance their careers through networking, personal and professional development and gain specialized education outside of the classroom. Enhance your resume by adding this academic achievement! 

Complete the 2024 Leadership Society Requirements outlined below. 

Wednesday, June19
7-9 p.m. - Opening Reception in the Eye Care Square exhibit hall

Thursday, June 20
1-2:30 p.m. - Affiliate Connections in the Eye Care Square exhibit hall
8 p.m. - AOSA Optometry Student Bowl (location to be announced soon)

Friday, June 21
1-2:30 p.m. - Residency Summit and Career Fair (Career Fair is open in the exhibit hall from 1-4:30 p.m.)

In addition to the above, 6 hours of Educational Events is also required.  Educational events are taking place throughout Optometry’s Meeting with the exception of one virtual course offered before the meeting. 

Educational events may include any of the following: 

• Any CE courses offered throughout Optometry’s Meeting  
• AOA+ Pop-Up sessions - Pop-Up sessions are only 40 min. in length; however, each one will still count as one hour   
• Leadership Link (space is limited, registration required) 
• Blast from the Past - hosted virtually on Wednesday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m. CT  | REGISTER HERE

• Attend 2 hours of contact lens or anterior segment CE at Optometry's Meeting
• Attend 1 CLCS programming event
  • Virtual webinar on Thursday, May 9
  • Presbyopia lab at Optometry's Meeting on Thursday, June 20
• Attend 1 CLCS networking event at Optometry's Meeting
  • CLCS Recognition Event on Friday, June 21
