Paraoptometric CE, Professional Development for Optometric Practice Staff
- Save 10 hours, see 11 more patients each week. That's how much time doctors say they recapture each week by delegating non-physician tasks to well-trained or certified paraoptometric staff.
The AOA's 2023 Survey of Paraoptometric Membership illustrates exactly why paraoptometric staff CE and professional development is so vital for practice success—trained, educated staff ensure practices run more efficiently to see more patients. At Optometry's Meeting, paraoptometrics can achieve a substantial 32 credits in courses accredited and authorized by the Commission on Paraoptometric Certification, and eligible for AOA CE Hours.
AOA Paraoptometric Micro-Credential: Optometric Surgical Assisting
Have paraoptometric staff seeking to complete their Optometric Surgical Assisting Microcredential? Don't forget to complete the required workshop portion of this microcredential (the lecture component is available within the AOA EyeLearn Professional Development Hub) available during Optometry's Meeting.
Doctor of optometry courses will be COPE or AOA CE Hours* approved unless otherwise noted in the CE schedule. The AOA will offer Continuing Education Examination/Transcript Quality (CEE/TQ) credit at this year's Optometry's Meeting (if applicable, scan the QR code at the end of your CEE/TQ course to register for the examination component; attendees must request the course examination through the QR code process and the exam must be completed within the testing window in order to be claimed). All optometric staff courses will be approved by the Commission on Paraoptometric Certification (CPC) for the CE credit and are acceptable for certification renewal requirements. *AOA CE Hours satisfy most state boards’ CE requirements and are respected by many organizations within the practice of optometry; however, it is advised that attendees verify their state board requirements prior to selecting courses to attend.*About CE Credits
